Description

What a cat-astrophe, Grandma’s mansion has been cursed! Ally must team up with Granny’s many cats, who have gained magical abilities, to pound and paw perilous poltergeists in the now-haunted abode. Explore enchanted areas, rescue cats, and upgrade your kitty companions to save the day!

History

On February 6, 2018, Rose City Games and VIZ Media announced a partnership to debut original, narrative-driven games starting with The World Next Door, which released on PC and Switch on 3/28/19.

The original concept for Cat Lady was created during a game jam in collaboration with Will Lewis and Jake Fleming in the summer of 2017 (the very same jam where the idea for The World Next Door, Rose City’s first game, also originated!) Rose City Games pitched the concept to VIZ Media shortly after The World Next Door entered production, and Cat Lady was greenlit to enter its prototyping phase in 2018 to iterate on the art style, test gameplay mechanics, and find the fun!

The game has been in full production ever since and shared its first playable demo at The MIX E3 2019. Rose City Games shared Cat Lady's gameplay trailer in July 2019, revealing features like roguelike gameplay, top-down combat, swapping and upgrading cats, unique gameplay arenas, and a soundtrack by Jim Guthrie and JJ Ipsen.
