We’ve got some bittersweet news to share today. After 10 amazing years, Rose City Games is closing its doors. It’s hard to put into words how grateful we are to everyone who played our games, all the talented developers we worked with, and our partners who believed in our team. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We were lucky enough to stay indie for a whole decade, experimenting with different genres, styles, and collaborations we’re really proud of. We had a few new projects we were super excited about, but unfortunately, we couldn’t to lock down funding in time to keep the studio afloat. On the bright side, we were able to ship our last title, LOVESICK, a truly unique VR experience — we hope you’ll check it out!

While this means we won’t be updating our games anymore, they’ll still be up on the platforms they're currently on (for as long as those platforms allow.) So if you haven’t played Garden Story, Floppy Knights, or The World Next Door, they’ll be there waiting.

Will Lewis is a lifelong lover of games and game making, co-founding Rose City Games in 2015 and founding the Portland Indie Game Squad (a nonprofit organization supporting game development in the Portland area) in 2011. Having run 28 game jams through 2017 and participating in personal game making challenges multiple times a year, he enjoys creating environments and resources that support art and tech creatives while collaborating on projects focused on character and story.
